The dark film on Richmond concrete is mostly living: algae, mildew and lichen that thrive in our humid summers, especially on shaded or north-facing slabs. On top of that sit tire marks, leaf tannin stains, red clay tracked in from the yard, and the occasional oil or rust spot.

Pressure alone removes the surface layer and leaves the roots, so the green comes back in a few months. We pre-treat the growth, clean the slab, and post-treat so it stays brighter for longer.
